@Mad Cyril NOT a celebrity?? Man, you've shattered my dreams forever.I am trying to put my cynicism to one side but if I was a celebrity I would just do it. No need for self publicity, it would happen anyway...

I cannot work out which is worse, the ‘celebrities’ announcing on social media that they’re NHS volunteering or the people replying to them calling them attention seekers.
Just get along Jesus ****!
Amazon are normally pretty good with refunds

That happened to a mate of mine. He ended up negotiating to pay half for a few new fence panels, and a gardening firm to re align old fence posts. He said it was the best thing he ever did, even tho it cost him money, and that side of the fence was down to the neighbour.
In my road, the back garden fence on the left is down to you, and the right is down to the neighbour. Is that everywhere, does anyone know?
Next time I move house I will have that put on the Buying Questions, "Is, are any of the neighbours lazy ****ers who don't up keep their property and in particular boundary fences?"It's not a hard fast rule, but that how it is for me. Spent nearly £2k this summer, getting laylandii and other trees cut down and a new fence & gate installed on my side, replaced a few on his side but not the one that needs a new post. He also has a bare asbestos panel as well (it's covered on my side with a sheet of metal). He really is a lazy *******.

Was about to order a book about HMS Victory for £12.99 from Portsmouth , then found out they wanted £11.99 postage , I think I will leave it in Portsmouth .
Ah. This is fraught with danger. Few years back (in a decent summer) a workmate won a golf umbrella. He left it in the corner of his office for days. So I opened it, filled it with hole-punching and some chopped lettuce. Anyway one day it went. "How was your umbrella?" I asked him. "Oh I didn't want a red one so I sent it back"....For some reason that has reminded me of a story about a golf club! Someone I used to work with (at an American investment bank) in Canary Wharf was seriously into his golf. He wanted to buy a new driver but it was very expensive. It was much cheaper in the States though. So he had it bought for him by an American colleague who put it in the internal mail for him!
That's more than hubby was taking, Benfleet station was rammed with drivers. He's given up and taken a job in a pharmaceutical warehouse for the time being, treated like agency staff there. He hates it, but until there's better support for the self employed, there's not a lot of choice.Trying to figure out what help I get as a self employed taxi driver. My daily takings are now around £60 per day and that’s before the daily bills.
So I looked at my bank statement today to see how much left for shopping this week. Shock horror, Amazon have just taken £7.99 from me. Checked back and they have been taking it each month for months. Like a lot of people, last year I signed up to the prime membership for a free month, as I ordered something and they offered next day free delivery with prime. I only ordered one thing. At the time they were meant to send me an email at the end of free trial for me to click on becoming a paid member or not. I didn't get the email, but they signed me up anyway, and didn't send me a welcoming email, to let me know. They have now changed this....While you won't be charged for your free trial, you'll be automatically converted to a paid membership plan at the end of the trial period. For more information, go to Turn off your Amazon Prime renewal. This was after thousands of complaints, and Martin Lewis getting involved, suggesting it's like a scam, but very surprising from such a massive company that doesn't need the money.
So anyway, I go on to Amazon, cancel my prime, order refund of £7.99. You can only order one months refund on site. But now want all the rest of my money back. So go on chat, and answer questions by bot, not person, multiple questions and multiple answers. Told to phone for call back. Call back not working as told, so told to phone Amazon. Phoned Amazon, voice message saying phones not working, go back to answer questions with bot.
Ggrrr.
So now more hassle trying to speak to someone, and trying to get my money back.
...and put the packet back?Someone has eaten our last Wagon Wheel....
