maybe you could explain how the extremist guy could afford to pay 4k for his daughter to have a boob job, courtesy of the dole

maybe you might be able to explain why immigrants have been paid between 22k up to 54k to move from london to thurrock

the bill is totting up and up
Sorry, you'll need to help me here. I've taken a very quick look at the BBC website and can't find anything at all on the above stories.

I am vaguely aware of the top one, one of the red tops had it front page today or yesterday, but little or no comment on the web.

No idea what the others are about, got any links?
I don't usually get involved in these debates, but you won't find the stories on the BBC website as they were actually in The Sun - and everything in there must be true! Being abroad I don't even get access to The Sun everyday, but the above is pretty obvious rubbish.

What about all the Brits screwing other nations health systems/benefits?

I didn't read the report but i'm guessing most of the people leaving the country have money and most coming in dont, but have in fact come here to earn their fortune. Problem is, a lot of them, especially Eastern Europeans, send most of their money home, so it leaves the country. If someone arrives here and seeks asylum, and stay, they have probably come with nothing so are given housing and benefits. Also people form other European countries can come here legally and use the national health service having never contributed a penny to it in their lives.
You could quite easily change the words in this sentence and say especially the British do exactly the same thing. There are several expats on this website, and I would be certain many of them are sending funds back home to family/for the future. (The ones planning on returning some day anyway!)

The Government has absolutely no idea how many Brits have left the country, but the estimated figure is above 6 million. If those 6 million had not been replaced by Eastern Europeans the economy would be looking a whole lot worse than it currently does now!! When will Britain actually realise they need the Eastern Europeans to keep their economy alive?!

As a matter of fact as well, the Polish are leaving the UK in mass at the moment after their economy is alive and kicking again. No doubt they will be replaced by the Romanians or another Eastern European country until their economy bounces again.

However, at the same time, we (The British) do exactly the same thing. Many of the markets in the Middle East are booming, where hundreds of thousands of Brits are now living and trying to earn a fortune to take back to Britain with them. Ask anyone who has gone to live there, and 90% (probably more!) of the time the reply will be money.

Why should we accuse the Eastern Europeans of doing to us exactly what we are doing to the Middle East?! Double standards I feel.

What have you been up to in Holland then?

I agree with a lot of what Einstein is saying there, we can't be taking the moral high ground if we're being hypocrites. I don't know about all countries, but as far as I'm aware, if you need medical assistance abroad then you should be covered by your insurance or European medical card thing if on holiday. If you choose to live abroad, then surely you need to subscribe to the same system as the locals if possible, or if the system is like ours then you should pay for treatment as you haven't contributed.

Maybe I'm being a bit simplistic here but I still hold firm to my belief that you shouldn't be entitled to a country's social benefits if you have made no contributions, whether that's housing, invalidity or health.

Yes money and lifestyle to some extent but also a bit of adventure and the hope that my kids will see a bit of the world and not turn into narrow-minded adults. At my son's nursery there are loads of different nationalities, including Emiratis (sons and daughters of muslims :stunned: wow) and they all get along great, why shouldn't they?

Yep, it's called a global economy.

Is it really hundreds and thousands though? I would imagine most of them are highly trained specialists and not unskilled labour which is what is coming to this country.

Yes, I read recently that there's an estimated 200,000 Brits living in the UAE alone. You're correct about the skilled bit - it's very difficult to get a work permit here without a degree as a minimum.

And hopefully you will all earn your fortunes and come back to the UK at some stage. However, I think the large majority will earn their money and decide its not worth coming back because the UK is full off the people who replaced them.

Possibly to do the mundane, dirty, tedious jobs that the indiginous population feel is beneath them. IMHO it's not the immigrant work force that sit on their @rses and wait for the government to give them money, it's those that are born here.

Quite likely the case, but having the work done cheaply by immigrants surely isnt the answer, when the people leaving are more affluent. Will this not make a great big hole in our economy at some stage?
Not that it could probably get any worse at the minute.

I'm not sure how it will leave a hole? Unless they're being paid cash in hand by unscrupilous employers then they'd be chipping into the pot with tax, NI etc.

Which brings it all back to getting the scallys out of their cushy "youth offender" hotels and get them doing some physical graft in their communities.

But, and I know Lord Knowitall doesnt agree, buy a lot of these people are working here and sending the money home.
Together with the affluent people who are leaving the country and taking the money with them, surely there must be a shortfall in money somewhere along the line.
I am quite pleased to see the Government adverts regarding employing immigrants illegally. That should certainly improve things as long as the guilty firms are dealt with accordingly.

I'm not sure where this shortfall is? Aren't we one of the five richest countries in the world? Hasn't Gordo & Darling just bailed out the greedy banks to some ridicilous tune of £50Bn of tax payer money.

And I completely agree - punish the greed of the firms that use illegal immigrant labour - because the workers are usually abused (Morecombe cockle pickers for example) while the gang masters and the unscrupulous companies get the rewards of dirt cheap labour.

This is a great initiative and as soon as the bank are making billions again I am sure we can all look forward to a hefty tax rebate.

If only they would renationalise , then the power companies then the railways hey MK

Then they could be run by the Unions and spend 3 weeks out of 4 on strike, and we could have power cuts and.....................................
