Should Sawyer now be given a chance?

WIth all thats been going on and being said over the past two days, iw onder if it is time that LS got a decent run in the side. Lets look at the situation sensibly, JJ suspended by club, Mosh likely to follow, Grant, out of form, Kane not much better, neither JPK and that leaves just Hall and...

    We should beat Crawley

Went to the Crawley vs Redbridge game yesterday and really didn't see anything to fear. The 5-0 scoreline flattered them. Redbridge had done very well to get to round 2 but they are a very poor team and they actually managed to play some half decent football against Crawley in periods, this is...

"In Flanders' fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row."

Presume there will be 2 mins of silence on here at 11am. During break time at school which is a shame.. I'll be observing at 10.43 with the girls and again at 11.05. In pace requiescat to all those who have fallen to allow us to be free and to make the world a better place.
  4. Time to let Blair go?

I know this is going to upset a lot of Southend fans, but I really do believe this. We are looking at more firepower according to Tara Brady, but have to work within the wage cap. We now look like a team full of goals home and away. This is, and always will be the way to go. Strikers with no...
  5. Ryan Hall in advance role

What a difference it made having a bit of pace upfront in the last 15 mins. Richards and Laurence had the easiest games of thier lives untill Ryan went on the last man and caused them to panic which led to the goal. During all our home games this season teams have come to Roots Hall with a...

    OD - Week 5

ShrimperZone CC v Anything Goes Batting first again and probably need to pick up the pace against a decent outfit. End of Over 27: 130-1, runrate=4.81 Blackman 4-0-31-1 Lamey* 50 (65 balls) Cunningham 8 (8 balls) Last Wicket: Sinethemba b. Blackman 67 (FOW: 118/1) It's been a good week...

Mirror mirror on the wall whose the daftest of them all?

Listening to BBC Essex on the way back Luggy said all needed to think hard about their efforts tonight and that he himself would be taking a look in the mirror. Well, sorry Mr S, but despite my deep respect for what you have so far done for SUFC, if you take an honest look I think you will find...

Sawyer can't get a start with Sturrock......

Yet again he comes on tonight and shows crablike, Grant, Ferdinand and Kalala how to go forward with pace, skill and movement. Why can't the man in charge see that when he is involved we look so much more dangerous and exiting to watch. Like Sturrock but how is he missing this blatant move is...

I'm liking what Sturrock is Building here .

I don;t want to get to carried away as our best seasons in teh past 10 years have been when we have gone into a season not expecting too much , but I look at the rebuilding job Sturrock has done and I can't help thinking he has a real good side and Balance going on . This guy like him or not...

Febian Brandy - Worth a look!

We have a target man in Corr, we have a finisher in Harris, playmaker Sturrock now we need someone with pace. I thought this guy tore us up when we played Gillingham away, very pacey, good touch and can finish I wouldnt mind seeing him complete our attackive line up this season Someone tell...

    Question Glasto 2011

With most things on red button or via website it's meant being able to catch up and enjoy things at my own pace... Enjoyed Eels, Gaslight Anthem, Fleet Foxes, Mumford & Sons and Vaccines so far... Who else needs checking out?

    OD - Week 8

Up Goes The Finger v ShrimperZone CC I sense a 300+ score is going to be needed to win today, solid start but need to up the pace. We can tell you that Up Goes The Finger won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking like a road. As flat as a pancake. No help for the bowlers on this...

Mohsni: Our best worst player ever...

...or our worst best player, I can't decide. In switching Mohsni up-front for the last twenty minutes today, was Sturrock mixing it up a bit, giving the fans something to get behind or dodging having to substitute the danger man in our defense? Like everyone else, I love a bit of Mohsni...

    Grown men on water flumes?

Due to the fact we havent had a home saturday for a few weeks I have got into the really nice habit of taking my daughter who is nearly three swimming on a saturday. It gives the Mrs a break (All be it she has my son) and I love it. We got to our local leisure centre and it has all the usual...

    Eng V SL

Was really looking forward to this summer's series against Sri Lanka but Sri Lanka have pretty much named a second string bowling attack. Murali has of course retired (as did Vaas a year or two back), but Malinga is being kept back for limited overs cricket, as is Angelo Mathews and there is no...
  18. In all seriousness if Mohsni.....

.....was fit enough to go straight back into the side on Friday (I know he isn't and won't but hypothetically speaking) I'd actually have still given us a slight glimmer of hope of gatecrashing the top 7. I think all the past 6 weeks has shown us is just how vital Bilel is to us (aswell as the...

Early thoughts on player of the season?

For me it's probably a top three in order of Barker, Hall and Corr. Barker has been so solid and really has lead by example. Hall totally dominates the pace of the team and Corr has been fantastic by his own and by our standards.

Question Who would you rather have - Hall vs Moussa

I remember being a bit gutted when Francky Moussa left in the summer. Only really his departure and Simon Francis's bothered me. However I think the form and general ability of Ryan Hall now he seems to have settled in has been a breath of fresh air and is probably the reason why were flying...
